Out-of-School Rate, Lower Secondary Age
26 years, 1999–2024 · 116 countries · 3 measures
The lower-secondary out-of-school rate is the share of adolescents of lower-secondary school age — typically about 12 to 15 — who are in no school at all, primary or secondary. It is the age at which drop-out starts to bite, so it often reads very differently from the rate for younger children.
This site holds every year from 1999 to 2024, read from UIS’s own data and stored exactly as published.

Precision
The headline is stored to 16 decimals, as published.
Rounded by this site
Never. Tables on screen may show fewer decimals; the files never do.
Changed by this site
Reshaped into one row per country: regional and income-group totals are left out, only the columns listed are kept, each row gets its ISO 3166 code, and some country names are brought to one spelling. No value is recalculated, rescaled or rounded.
From the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (ROFST.2.CP). Editions reporting fewer than 50 countries are not written, which drops every year before 1999 and the newest stub year. Female and male rates are stored beside the headline.
